A series of guerrilla pop-up drawing events through Islington in London are due to take place from 25th June to 4th July. The sessions will feature a range of activities in unusual spaces: from the top of a bus to a shopping arcade, and the programme will culminate in an event at Islington Museum as part of Cubitt People’s Republic: a major exhibition of work exploring community, democracy, creative freedom and Islington’s radical past.

This one-day symposium will explore the special nature of glass in craft and industry. Focusing on the development of innovative approaches and creative opportunities for glass and glass making. It seeks to explore similarities and differences across the differing attitudes to the nature of ‘glass’. The event takes place on Friday 27th August at the School of Art, University of Wolverhampton.

In a collision between dance and drawing, the movements of a dancer are transformed into a series of lines drawn live by the Australian visual artist Rochelle Haley. ‘Gesture & Trace’ investigates drawing as an embodied and performance based activity. At the heart of this project is the reciprocity between the body, motion and line.
The Campaign for Drawing launches its 10th Big Draw month-long season of drawing events for people of all ages and abilities.
