Drawing can be used in a number of ways and settings. From a pictogram that transcends language barriers, a visualisation of topography, an emotional response to words or thoughts and as a formal means of communication. The Institute of Science, Innovation and Society (InSIS) is organising a two-day conference on 25th-26th March 2011 at Saïd Business School, University Oxford with support from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the Oxford e-Social Science project. This is a call for proposals, the deadline is 1st December 2010.

NEW DRAWING JOURNAL- The Department of Drawing and Visual Communication of the Faculty for Architecture in Lisbon, is happy to announce the launch of the first issue of the magazine LINHA DO HORIZONTE (Horizon Line), dedicated to Drawing. The launch of this new journal will be made at the ‘Drawing In Question’ conference taking place on the 25th and 26th March 2010.

DRAWING OUT is a trans-disciplinary conference. It explores drawing across the boundaries of disciplines. It addresses drawing as a way of thinking and communicating in the twenty-first century. Whoever we are, drawing is part of our everyday and professional lives. This event takes place in Melbourne Austrailia from 7th to 9th April 2010.
The Annual DRN Conference takes place at the University of Brighton on the 14th September 2010. The conference invites proposals for research posters around this year’s theme: ‘Observation, Mapping, Dialogue’. Deadline for submission of posters is Friday, 9th April 2010.
The 2009 DRN Conference took place on Thursday 8th October 2009 at The Cochrane Theatre, Southampton Row, London (Next to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design). The Keynote speakers were Joel Fisher, Ana Leonor Madeira Rodrigues and Eduardo Corte-Real.
