A exhibition of Agnes Martin’s work is currently showing at Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge. The paintings in this exhibition are from her later years when bands of ethereal colour combined with the irregularities of hand-drawn grids. “The paintings are very far from perfect – completely removed in face – even as we ourselves are.”
There are two forthcoming drawing events taking place at Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge (UK). These include a lecture by Professor Deanna Petherbridge on the 29th June and a panel discussion taking place on 1st July. These events will be of interest to those with an interest in film, photography, performance, dance, anthropology, as well as the language of drawing.
This in-depth exploration of the symbolic, perceptual and imaginative language of drawing is open to all artists, designers, teachers of art and others, keen to extend their knowledge of the expressive and analytical tools of drawing and of the strategies of the sketchbook. The workshop and discussions will be led by the artist and art historian Glenn Sujo.
