These include a lecture by Professor Deanna Petherbridge on the 29th June and a panel discussion taking place on 1st July. These events will be of interest to those with an interest in film, photography, performance, dance, anthropology, as well as the language of drawing.

Professor Deanna Petherbridge Lecture ‘Drawing, Embodiment and the Absent Body’

On June 29th Professor Deanna Petherbridge will present a richly illustrated lecture addressing the enormous range of possibilities expressed by the human body in and through the art of drawing, from Byzantium to Modernist abstraction.

Various Panellists Discuss: Stations of the Temporal

On 1st of July a mixed panel will explore the extent to which the highly ritualised and improvisational structures of dance, as the most exalted of human expressions, shaped the emergence of the modern movement and continues to inform our thinking. Each of the panellists will show a short film.

Both events will take place at 6.00pm at Mill Lane Lecture Theatre 2, University of Cambridge
