
The 2009 DRN Conference took place on Thursday 8th October 2009 at The Cochrane Theatre, Southampton Row, London (Next to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design). The Keynote speakers were Joel Fisher, Ana Leonor Madeira Rodrigues and Eduardo Corte-Real.
Thinking Through Drawing
A conference jointly organised by the Drawing Research Network www.drawing.org.uk and the Campaign for Drawing www.campaignfordrawing.org took place on Thursday 8th October 2009 at The Cochrane Theatre, Southampton Row, London (Next to Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design)
Keynote Speakers:
- 10.45 am – Joel Fisher ‘Notes Towards a Prepositional Drawing’ 11.45
- 11.45 am – Ana Leonor Madeira Rodrigues, Technical University of Lisbon ‘Invention, intervention and interaction: the works of Helena Almeida, Lourdes de Castro, Gabriela Albergaria and Inês Teixeira’
- 12.15 pm – Teresa Carneiro, Drawing Spaces, Lisbon ‘Drawing Spaces’
- 2.00 pm – Eileen Adams, Director of Power Drawing ‘Power Drawing’
- 3.00 pm - Eduardo Corte-Real, Institute of Visual Arts, Design and Marketing, Lisbon ‘A Smooth Guide to Travel Drawing’
This conference was in collaboration with the Campaign for Drawing (CfD) who held a number of events in London either side of the 8th October. The central London venue provided an opportunity to bring together those attending CfD events and people from the DRN in ‘Drawing for Learning, Engagement and Enjoyment’: an international conference. Cost: ’Thinking Through Drawing’ Conference fee £40 (£30 concessions e.g. students)
