Drawn to Dialogue Masterclass

Led by Sheila Grandison-Barendt and Michael Wright
This intensive 3-day drawing masterclass is designed to bring into dialogue thinking informed by both Fine Art and Art Psychotherapy in relation to drawing practice. Supported by practical workshops, life models, time-based digital technology and group reflective practice, the focus will be on thinking about looking – responding to and bringing into understanding – transformational change processes evidenced in drawing.
Sheila Grandison-Barendt is an HPC registered art psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer with 20 years experience working in NHS acute and community adult mental health settings. She has an MA Drawing as Process (Kingston U) and a special interest in the role of drawing when working clinically with the acute and dissociative states of mind related to psychosis and trauma. She is currently Head of Arts Therapies in the Specialist Therapies Resource Unit of the East London NHS Foundation Trust.
Michael Wright is Co Programme Leader for Fine Art in the School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire and external examiner to Fine Art Programmes in London, Liverpool and York. He is experienced in running creative drawing workshops for over 25 years, exhibits internationally, and has authored a number of arts publications on Fine Art media.
Workshop fee: £90 (Fees do not include lunch or materials – but tea and coffee provided).
