Science Illustration course with Pedro Salgado (Portughese award-winning illustrator).
She illustrated ‘Salada de flores’ ['Flower salad'], a botanical iniciation children book written by Fernanda Botelho (medicinal plants specialist).
Member of ‘Grupo do Risco’ (www.grupo-do-risco.pt). She took part on the group’s field sketching expeditions to Berlengas and Douro in Portugal and Amazonia in Brasil.
Author of “Uma mão cheia de amoras”, a book illustrated in 2007 and home edited by the illustrator and designer Marina Palácio.
Sara worked as a designer and illustrator in several fields such as: furniture and trade fair stands; characters, settings and story boards for animation movies; graphic interfaces for educational software.
At the moment she works as a freelance illustrator.
Her illustration skills encompass sketching, concept generation (products, characters and environments), technical drawing, botanical illustration, science and educational illustration (for children or adults), portrait and human figure drawing.
Currently she is also studying Artistic Anatomy, a master degree at FBAUL, Lisbon.
